FUTURING THE LAND JUSTICE MOVEMENT

In this event we celebrate the vision and wisdom of land justice luminaries from around the country. Tune into a conversation about what’s needed in the land justice movement right now from three BIPOC organizers and earth workers who are making a just and liveable future more and more possible everyday, and a sister who is organizing within her community to help make that future come to life.

You’ll hear from leaders who are:

- creating a learning center & demo site for a Just Transition in the Oakland hills of California

- liberating space for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ artists and activists to rest and heal in Minnesota

- cultivating climate resilience off the shores of Long Island while defending ancestral homelands from pipelines

- showing up in solidarity, as land-owning women religious, to be allies and accomplices for a land justice future on land they have stewarded

The SPEAKERS:

- Bridgette Kelly, Managing Director of Root Springs

- Carla María Perez, Co-Director at Movement Generation Justice & Ecology Project

- Tela Troge, Co-Founder of the Shinnecock Kelp Farmers & Niamuck Land Trust

- Sr. Joan Gallagher, Sisters of St. Joseph of Brentwood, NY
